Engagements are flexible and relationship-based. I typically work in an advisory, coaching, or mentoring capacity, either on a retainer basis or through structured check-ins over a defined period of time. My goal is to be helpful, accessible, and aligned with each client’s needs.

His work today is primarily advisory and coaching focused, helping leaders think clearly, navigate complexity, and build confidence during periods of transition or growth.

Clients engage Mike for his ability to listen, synthesize ideas, ask the right questions, and offer grounded, real-world insight shaped by experience across nonprofit leadership, public service, advocacy, and organizational management. This includes advising nonprofit executives, supporting organizational organizing efforts, and serving as a coach or mentor to elected officials who want trusted support as they lead.
Mike partnered with The WorkPlace to design and facilitate workforce development programming for individuals experiencing long-term unemployment. His work combined structured training with coaching and encouragement, helping participants rebuild confidence, strengthen job readiness, and develop the professional skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce.

Strategic Advisory, Ballot Line Strategy & Endorsement Process

Mike served as Executive Director of Serve America Movement during a period of organizational transition that later evolved into Reform Alliance Movement. His work focused on coalition building, volunteer engagement, and advancing democracy reform initiatives including ranked choice voting, open primaries, and term limits. As the organization’s direction shifted, this work naturally pivoted into a more focused, state-based effort in Connecticut.

Executive Leadership & Democracy Reform Strategy

Building on his democracy reform work, Mike redirected his efforts into Griebel Frank for Connecticut, where the organization held an active ballot line. He helped guide strategy, advised leadership, and led interviews with gubernatorial candidates. The organization ultimately endorsed Governor Ned Lamont based on his enthusiastic support for ranked choice voting, reflecting a pragmatic and values-driven approach to reform.

Mike began his relationship with CTLCV as a consultant, serving as Managing Director during a period of growth and change. He helped bring operational clarity to the organization by strengthening internal systems, supporting staff expansion, and improving management practices. This work laid the foundation for CTLCV’s continued effectiveness and later expanded into senior executive leadership.
